Job Description

Job Overview The Accounting Assistant is responsible for supporting the organization in day-to-day financial operations by accurately processing customer, company, and supplier-related transactions. This position reports directly to the Financial Controller and includes hands-on experience and training in various accounting functions. Responsibilities
  • Manage Accounts Payable process including matching and vouchering vendor invoices
  • Issue vendor payments including mailing checks and initiating electronic transfers
  • Send Accounts Receivable customer invoices and follow up on past due accounts
  • Complete customer credit checks and process credit card payments
  • Daily Bank Account cash postings and monthly Bank Reconciliations
  • Prepare sales tax and 1099 documentation for federal/state filings
  • Collate, file and archive documents in organized manner for easy access
  • Assist with annual external financial audit including gathering records requested
  • As needed support of Financial Controller in month-end closing or other reporting tasks Skills
  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • 0-2 years of accounting-related experience
  • Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail
  • Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with customers, vendors, and other departments based on requirements and feedback
  • Microsoft Office proficiency including Word, Excel and Outlook
