Accounts Payable Specialist Confidential Oklahoma City, OK Job Details Full-time From $20 an hour 20 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Qualifications High school diploma or GED Attention to detail Accounting error correction Accounting Full Job Description About the Role The Accounts Payable Associate processes utility and vendor bills for a group of properties. You'll reconcile monthly control sheets, build twice-monthly payment lists, and find utility charges that should be billed back to residents. This role suits someone who is detail-oriented, likes working in spreadsheets, and is comfortable with firm deadlines. What You'll Do Process scanned utility and vendor invoices (electric, gas, water, and recurring service vendors) for assigned properties Maintain monthly property control sheets: enter account details, amounts, and due dates, and compare each bill to the prior month to catch unusual changes Prepare and submit the 10th and 25th payment lists, making sure every amount matches its control sheet Prepare AppFolio import sheets with the correct GL coding so checks can be printed Track vacant-unit utility accounts and confirm move-in dates using AppFolio rent roll reports Complete utility bill backs for residents who move in without transferring utilities Identify high-vacant utility charges and report them to property teams Keep the payment list tracker current so the team can see each property's status Work with property managers, accountants, and the AP team to resolve missing bills, discrepancies, and questions What We're Looking For 1+ year of accounts payable, billing, or bookkeeping experience (property management or utilities experience is a plus) Working knowledge of
Excel:
formulas, filters, copy/paste values, and reconciling totals across tabs Experience with accounting or property management software (AppFolio preferred) Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers Ability to manage recurring deadlines and several properties at once Clear written and verbal communication High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or a degree in accounting or business is a plus Why Join Us Hands-on training with documented processes (SOPs) for every step of the workflow A supportive AP team that works closely together Room to grow into property accounting roles
