Accounts Payable Specialist:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team at a growing Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) company. In this role, you'll handle full cycle accounts payable functions, vendor and tax compliance tasks, and support specialized accounting activities that are essential to the operational and financial health of the business. You'll work cross-functionally with procurement, operations, and finance teams, and ensure accurate processing and reporting in a fast-paced environment typical in the CPG industry. Key Responsibilities Process, validate, and record Accounts Payable (A/P) invoices ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. Manage vendor documentation, including W-9 collection and maintenance of current tax information. Oversee new vendor setup and ongoing vendor management in the accounting system; ensure proper approvals and documentation. Handle credit card processing and employee expense management, including coding, reconciliation, and reporting. Perform rent analysis for leased facilities and ensure accruals and payments align with lease terms. Maintain state tax registrations and assist with compliance reporting as required. Conduct sales tax analysis for applicable jurisdictions and assist in supporting filings or accruals based on CPG revenue streams. Reconcile fixed assets, ensuring accuracy of recorded and physical asset listings for reporting and audit readiness. Process Medicaid and Medicare payments as applicable to vendor and service provider arrangements. Support Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) accounting, including reconciliation and allocation of related transactions. Preferred Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience; CPG industry experience a plus. Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, QuickBooks) and strong Excel skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally. Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with attention to detail. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting business priorities common in CPG operations.
