Approximately 20- 40 hours per month About the Company Monroe County Habitat for Humanity (MCHFH) Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope.
Key duties include:
- Recording monthly transactions such as invoices, payments, expenses to maintain a clear financial picture
- Reconciling accounts by comparing bank statements with internal records to ensure accuracy
- Managing accounts payable and receivable, including entering vendor bills, tracking due dates, creating invoices and following up on overdue payments with the MCHFH's management
- Maintaining organized financial documentation for audits, tax filings, and internal review
- Transaction categorization: ensuring all bank and credit card transactions are correctly classified, including resolving mismatches or duplicates
- Invoice and payment management: creating invoices, applying payments, and maintaining accounts receivable aging reports
- Receipt accounting with customers per internal process: entering vendor bills, tracking receipts, and ensuring costs and expenses are allocated to the correct entities Skills and Qualifications Successful QuickBooks bookkeepers typically demonstrate:
- Proficiency in QuickBooks (Online, Desktop, or Advanced) and familiarity with its reconciliation, reporting
- Strong attention to detail to prevent errors in financial records
- Understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple accounts and deadlines
- Optional certifications like QuickBooks ProAdvisor can validate expertise
