About Quality Collision Quality Collision is a Toledo-based automotive business providing collision repair, light automotive maintenance, and vehicle restoration services . We are seeking an experienced and dependable Part-Time Bookkeeper to help establish and maintain accurate financial records and provide the financial information necessary for management to make informed business decisions. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bookkeeping professional looking for a flexible, limited-hours position. The position may be performed partially remotely; however, the successful candidate should expect to work in our Toledo office approximately once per week . Position Overview The Part-Time Bookkeeper will work directly with the Owner and will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the company's accounting records using QuickBooks Desktop . Quality Collision is currently establishing a more formal accounting and financial reporting process. The immediate priority is to create reliable, timely financial records going forward while methodically organizing and reconciling historical 2026 activity over the coming months. This is not simply a data-entry position. We are looking for someone who understands small-business bookkeeping and recognizes that accurate accounting information is essential to cash management, profitability, financial planning, and banking relationships. Primary Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain the company's accounting records in QuickBooks Desktop
- Maintain an organized and appropriate Chart of Accounts
- Accurately record and classify company financial transactions
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger
- Enter and manage vendor bills and accounts payable
- Generate customer invoices and maintain accounts receivable records
- Record and properly apply customer payments
- Monitor outstanding receivables and payables
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
- Maintain accurate records of payments made to subcontractors and other vendors
- Maintain appropriate supporting documentation for financial transactions
- Identify unusual transactions, discrepancies, or missing information and work with the Owner to resolve them
- Assist in gradually reconciling and organizing 2026 financial activity
- Maintain accurate financial information necessary for monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reporting
- Assist in maintaining information used for cash-flow reporting and forecasting
- Help ensure financial records provide management with meaningful information regarding the company's operating performance and profitability
- Maintain organized records suitable for year-end tax preparation and review by the company's outside accountant
- Help maintain financial records and supporting schedules suitable for presentation to banks and other financial institutions Financial Reporting & Cash Management A particularly important responsibility of this position will be maintaining the accuracy and timeliness of the underlying financial information used by management. The company's financial records will be used to:
- Monitor current cash position
- Forecast upcoming cash requirements
- Evaluate accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Monitor operating expenses
- Evaluate business profitability
- Identify financial trends and potential issues
- Support budgeting and financial planning
- Prepare financial information for banking relationships and future financing needs The bookkeeper will not be expected to independently perform financial analysis or make management decisions, but must maintain the quality and integrity of the financial information upon which those decisions are based. Qualifications
- Previous bookkeeping experience required
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks required
- Experience with QuickBooks Desktop strongly preferred
- Experience establishing or organizing books for a small business is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger accounting
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Excel
- Ability to accurately organize and reconstruct historical financial activity
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to identify discrepancies and investigate them appropriately
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Dependable and able to complete responsibilities on an established schedule
- Professional communication skills
- High degree of discretion when handling confidential financial information Experience in an automotive, collision repair, service, trades, or other small-business environment is helpful but not required. Schedule & Work Arrangement
- Approximately 5-10 hours per week
- Flexible part-time scheduling
- Hybrid work arrangement available
- Approximately one day per week in the Toledo office
- Remaining work may be completed remotely when appropriate
- Reports directly to the Owner Compensation $18-$30 per hour, commensurate with bookkeeping experience, QuickBooks proficiency, and the candidate's ability to work independently.
