GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Under the supervision of the Controller, the Accounting Specialist will be responsible for all administrative duties related to the Foundation, Waterfront Drive, invoicing and collecting hospital/school payments.
Essential duties:
Deposit Foundation checks and work with laboratory staff on accounting reports Process AP Foundation checks via the Sage system Deposit Waterfront Drive checks Process AP/dividend checks for Waterfront Drive via the Sage system Process the annual 1099 forms for the Foundation and Waterfront Drive Manage monthly closing process for Foundation and Waterfront Drive Send hospital and school invoices on a weekly/monthly basis Follow-up with vendors regarding delinquent payment Process payments and post them accurately to the general ledger Post cash receipts daily for UOI in Sage Perform BCBS monthly report Sort PO Box mail Assist with month-end close and accounting processes for UOI and ancillary companies with team members Additional duties assigned by the
CEO and Upper Management Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field with a strong foundation in financial principles Excellent written and verbal communications skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, OneDrive, etc. Ability to work independently High Level of attention to detail, research analysis and analytical skills, and effective communication/customer service skills Decision making and problem-solving resolution skills Ability to communicate effectively with all employees Performs independently within the department's policies and practices Must be able to travel to all sites if/when necessary.
