ABOUT THE POSITION
The Clark County Water Reclamation District is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Water Quality Protection and Compliance Manager position. This position will be primarily responsible for: Overseeing a program of regulatory response and enforcement relative to illicit discharges to the storm drain system; collaborating with external agencies to facilitate a prompt response and full compliance. Providing administrative oversight of the Sewage and Wastewater Advisory Committee, providing water quality recommendations to the Clark County Commission. Conceiving, planning, developing, and implementing new, innovative, and expanded water quality programs; directing and participating in analytical studies, and uses findings to implement enhancements for preserving Clark County watersheds. Working directly with state and local regulators to negotiate permit and regulatory requirements and provides presentations and official comment on proposed legislation and regulations. Representing Clark County water quality related interests on boards and interagency groups; Initiating interaction and establishes coalitions with multiple groups and local, state, and federal agencies on regulatory matters pertaining to water quality. This recruitment will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by Human Resources. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Qualifying education and experience must be clearly documented in the "Education" and "Work Experience" sections of the application. Do not substitute a resume for your application or write "see attached resume" on your application.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, engineering, environmental management, public administration or a related field. Five (5) years full-time experience in water quality programs or closely related field. Two (2) years of full-time supervisory or management level experience. Equivalent combination of formal education and appropriate related experience may be considered.
Licenses/Certifications:
Possess a valid Nevada Class [C] driver's license at time of appointment.
Background Investigation:
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation.
Pre-Employment Drug Testing:
Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.
