Position Overview We are seeking a qualified and motivated Service Leader - UST Fuel System Testing & Compliance to manage and lead programs focused on compliance testing, inspection, and regulatory support for Underground Storage Tank (UST) systems in the Southeastern United States. This role is responsible for overseeing field teams, managing regulatory reporting, ensuring adherence to state and federal UST regulations, and supporting fuel system owners/operators in maintaining operational compliance. The ideal candidate brings deep familiarity with UST compliance requirements and hands-on experience with testing protocols and documentation. Minimum Job Qualifications Associates Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science or Construction Management. 5+ years of experience in UST fuel system compliance or testing services. UST A/B Operator certification in one or more states Strong working knowledge of federal (40 CFR 280) and state UST regulations. Experience with UST components including piping, sumps, sensors, overfill devices, and cathodic protection. Experience working with fuel retailers, commercial fleets, or government fueling facilities. Familiarity with electronic testing equipment and compliance software. OSHA 40-HourHAZWOPER
(or ability to obtain). Technical licenses or certifications related to UST systems, testing, or fuel system installation a plus. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and team management skills. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities. Proficiency in financial management tools and Microsoft Office Suite. Key Responsibilities Project Leadership Lead scheduling and execution of required monthly, annual, triennial UST system inspections and tests, including but not limited to: Automatic line leak detector (ALLD) testing Line tightness and tank integrity testing Spill bucket and sump testing Overfill prevention equipment testing Cathodic protection system testing and inspections Ensure all testing complies withEPA 40 CFR
280 and state-specific regulations. Ensure timely delivery, regulatory compliance, and technical quality. Regulatory Reporting & Documentation Prepare and submit accurate, timely compliance documentation to regulatory agencies. Maintain inspection records, test results, and facility compliance logs. Assist clients in responding to Notices of Violation (NOVs) or compliance concerns. Field Oversight & QA/QC Supervise field technicians performing compliance testing and inspections. Provide on-the-job training, safety guidance, and performance feedback. Ensure high-quality data collection, safe work practices, and adherence to company standards. Client Support Serve as the main point of contact for retail fueling clients, fleet operators, or facility managers. Provide guidance on UST compliance schedules, upgrades, and required testing intervals. Develop and deliver compliance summaries and reports to clients. Program Development & Growth Assist in expanding UST compliance services across the Carolinas and Georgia. Support proposal development, cost estimating, and client outreach. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving UST regulations and best practices.
