Job Description

SUMMARY:
Plans, coordinates, and directs quality control program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Formulates and maintains quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other department managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
  • Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.
  • Clear understanding of all roles and team members' job responsibilities within the quality department including recommendations of training needs within the department.
  • Lead for continued annual compliance certifications for
IATF 16949 / ISO 19001
  • Strong GD&T knowledge (printing and reading) in support of QC department
  • Handling corrective actions and 8D's
  • Follow company process for customer sort requests (i.e. Quote, Purchase Order, tracking activity& charges, etc).
  • Update/Create quality alerts, sort list, and C/A log
  • Internal/External PPM
  • Lead quarterly management review meetings
  • Monthly metrics
  • tracking & reporting
  • Shared responsibility for responding to after-hours customer concerns or rejection responses as needed
  • Involved in Go and See functions
  • Shared responsibility in monitoring and administering customer portals for questionnaires, surveys, and to provide requested data as it pertains to company and customer quality initiatives and goals.
ALTERNATE LEAD RESPONSIBLITIES
  • First line support in fielding requests of the QC Department
  • Track, Log and Assign LCA's
  • Involved with Kaizen, ICA, APQP, Jidoka, review and meetings
  • LPA/Start up audits
  • schedule, review, summaries, follow ups and close out
  • Maintain corrective action log
  • PPAP
  • ensure all core documents reflect APQP inputs
  • Supplier/Customer PPAP
  • review/approve
  • Update/Create in-process inspections, WI, and/or

EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree or equivalent; ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience to be in metal stampings as well as supervision of production and quality personnel.
