Code Compliance Officer

The Police Department is currently recruiting for a Code Compliance Officer. The main focus of this position is to respond to and resolve a wide variety of citizen and City personnel complaints of a non-emergency nature while performing ordinance enforcement . These types of complaints include neighborhood disputes, code violations, identifying and ticketing abandoned vehicles, trespassing complaints, graffiti abatement, animal related complaints, assisting police officers with traffic crashes, and other calls for service. General Statement of Duties The principal function of an employee in this class performs a wide range of duties in code enforcement, community engagement and policing, and field operations support. The principal duties of this class are performed in a police department and in an outdoors environment with exposure to varying weather conditions and possible exposure to physical hazards. Normal working hours will include being assigned to any one of several shifts: day shift, afternoon shift, mid shift, weekdays or weekends. Shifts and days off may rotate based on operational need. LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS

• Valid Driver's License and safe driving record;
• Ability to obtain Law Enforcement Data Systems (LEDS) certification within sixty days of hire;
• Must be able to pass an extensive background investigation.

Hillsboro Police Department offers

Bi-Lingual Pay:

Employees who are qualified by the department as bi-lingual in English and Spanish or Japanese, American Sign Language or a language spoken by over ten percent (10%) of City residents as documented by the most recent U.S. Census will receive a monthly premium of five percent (5%) of their regular base pay.
