full-time Director, Property and Development Accounting - Land | Commercial Real Estate Why this role Lead the accounting function for a portfolio of land development projects and entities - with real decision authority over reserves, funding, and capital activity, a team to build, and a direct line to senior leadership. This is a seat for a CPA who wants ownership, not just oversight. What you'll do Own accurate, timely financial reporting under U.S. GAAP and governing agreements, including complex transactions and GL activity Approve reserves, write-offs, and capital activity in line with governing documents Oversee treasury: reconciliations, capital activity, funding approvals, and cash flow forecasting Evaluate technical accounting conclusions on non-routine matters and validate periodic reporting Manage complex ownership structures and track performance against budget and forecast Establish and enforce internal controls protecting financial integrity and assets Support audits and review tax deliverables, including projections and workpapers Lead and develop the team - training, performance management, and technical guidance Partner cross-functionally with tax, payables, finance, and transactions, plus external stakeholders Assess systems and processes for efficiency gains; identify and mitigate risk Deliver ad hoc reporting for executive and external audiences What you need Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field CPA required 6+ years of accounting experience, including commercial real estate Proven people-management experience Strong communication skills and the ability to run complex issues, deadlines, and cross-functional work simultaneously
