Job Description
Finance/Accounting Analyst
Submitted by ADonahue on April 30, 2026 The California Nurses Association/National Nurses United (CNA/NNU), the largest labor union and professional association representing Registered Nurses in the U.S., is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and highly skilled professional to join our team to deliver timely and prompt business services and compliance reporting. The Analyst will report to the Controller and will work closely with the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll Managers. He/she will also interface closely with the Operations manager, support staff and third-party vendors. This position is primarily responsible for reviewing and analysis of the financial data and reports in the areas of budgeting, auditing, and financial reports for all entities including the California Nurses Foundation and National Nurses United and other affiliates' disbursements and receipts. The ideal candidate will be deadline oriented, able to create financial modeling for business activities, will be highly organized, a problem solver, and capable of handling multiple projects with accuracy and consistent with generally accepted accounting practices.

Oakland, CA Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Review and analysis of monthly and quarterly financial statements and reports. Research financial issues and create comparatives for overall trend analysis Creation and posting of Journals Ad hoc analysis projects as assigned Contribute ideas and innovations to improve existing systems, work processes and procedures affecting month end financial close, account analysis preparation, financial forecast and reporting. Liaison with Political Action Committee (PAC) service providers, accessing data to use to upload into the general ledger. This helps in providing prompt and accurate monthly reporting to the board and appropriate agencies. Maintains excellent relationships with field staff, operations support, and third parties.Additional Qualifications:
5+ years accounting experience required. Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, advanced degree or certification preferred. Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, and strong analytical skills. Blackbaud Financial Edge Fund accounting software experience a plus. Solid working knowledge of GAAP andDOL-OLMS.
Experience with multi-user funds and intercompany transactions. Resourceful, able to solve problems in fast paced environment with confidence and under limited supervision. Strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.Salary & Benefits:
We offer a competitive annual salary in the range of $124,308 - $130,560 dependent on skills and experience.
