JOB DESCRIPTION
Commercial Credit Analyst Position Overview:
Altura Business Finance is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Credit Analyst to join our lending team. As a Commercial Credit Analyst , you will play a crucial role in facilitating the loan application and approval process for our small business clients. Your meticulous attention to documentation, financial analysis, and compliance will contribute to the success of our lending operations. The ideal candidate should have working knowledge of basic commercial lending practices, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both internal teams and external clients.Loan Application & Documentation Review :
Review loan applications and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy. Verify required documentation has been received from both the borrower and participating third-party lender (TPL), identify outstanding items, and communicate deficiencies to the Loan Officer.Data Entry and Systems Management:
Accurately input and maintain borrower, loan, financial, and collateral information in loan processing and financial analysis systems. Set up new loans and maintain comprehensive and organized records throughout the loan process.Financial Statement & Tax Return Spreading:
Spread financial information from business and personal tax returns, company-prepared financial statements, and interim financial statements. Evaluate the quality and consistency of the financial information while identifying unusual, inconsistent, or unclear accounts and highlighting items that require further explanation or review by the Loan Officer.Financial Analysis:
Under the direction & guidance of the Loan Officer conduct in-depth financial analysis of applicants' financial profiles to assess their creditworthiness. Evaluate business financial statements, cash flow projections, and collateral value to determine risk and suitability for loan approval.- SBA 504
Program Knowledge & Compliance :
Develop a working knowledge of the SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), including SBA 504 loan eligibility requirements, program requirements, and applicable policies. Apply this knowledge when reviewing and processing loan applications and supporting documentation, identifying potential eligibility or compliance concerns for further review.SBA Loan Packaging & Submission:
Prepare and assemble complete SBA 504 loan packages for submission to the SBA. Conduct a thorough review of each package to ensure required documentation, forms, certifications, and supporting information are complete, accurate, and in compliance with SBA requirements, with the goal of ensuring all requirements are addressed and the package is fully ready for submission.Annual Loan Servicing :
Support the collection and verification of annual tax returns, insurance certifications, and property tax documentation to ensure compliance and accuracy in loan servicing.Loan Reviews & Risk Rating:
Analyze and interpret annual tax returns to assess the financial condition of borrowers. Perform risk rating of individual loans to evaluate their quality and contribute to the overall assessment of portfolio health.Coordination:
Collaborate with loan officer and other team members to streamline the loan approval process. Coordinate efforts to meet deadlines and achieve seamless workflows.Problem Solving:
Identify and resolve discrepancies, errors, or missing information in loan applications or documentation. Analyze complex situations and recommend appropriate solutions to maintain smooth processing.Loan Processing Support :
Assist Loan Officer with the preparation and processing of SBA 504 loans by maintaining accurate loan information, tracking outstanding requirements, and ensuring files are complete and ready for underwriting, approval, and closing.Ad Hoc Support:
Assist in various ad hoc tasks, including preparing and compiling data for reports and participating in process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in finance, business or related fieldRequired:
- Strong Microsoft Office (or equivalent) skills and ability to use relevant industry-specific computer programs, as well as calculators
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and strong customer service orientation
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High ethical standards and a commitment to confidentiality.
Preferred:
- A comprehensive understanding of the Association's structure, operations, and services provided.
- General knowledge of commercial lending, business, and financial administration.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small and select team.
