This role is benchmarked against Accountants and Auditors, reflecting its responsibilities in journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, month-end close support, and GAAP-based accounting.
  • Review, code, and post vendor invoices to the general ledger in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Accurately receive, review, and verify invoices for accuracy, matching them to purchase orders and receiving documents (two-way or three-way matching).
  • Prepare and execute payment runs, including checks or electronic payments in accordance with company policies.
  • Address and respond to vendor inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform daily cash reporting and weekly cash reconciliation for disbursement bank accounts, ensuring reconciliation accuracy, timely identification of variances, and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and adjustments.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements, including month-end account analysis, variance research, and reporting to support management decision-making.
  • Assist with month-end accrual and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for balance sheet reconciliation for assigned accounts.
  • Assist in AP workflow improvements, including automation and ERP system use.
  • Participate in the cross-training of other duties as directed by supervisor/lead.
  • Update and maintain written documentation of current processes.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations.   • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Prior accounting or accounts payable experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, and data analysis capabilities
  • Strong computer skills and an understanding of operating systems Preferred education and experience
  • Manufacturing/industrial accounting experience
  • Microsoft Dynamics experience
