We're looking for a detail-driven Billing/Accounting Manager who can take ownership of Medicaid billing operations, ensure accuracy, and keep revenue flowing. Billing/Accounting ManagerJob Summary The Billing/Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing Medicaid billing operations and ensuring accurate, timely revenue collection in compliance with agency, state, and federal requirements. This role plays a critical part in maintaining consistent revenue streams through effective billing processes, reconciliation, and follow-up on outstanding balances. This position also supports the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with financial reporting, budgeting, and accounting functions, while supervising billing staff and partnering with program leadership to provide meaningful financial insights. Key Responsibilities Supervise and support billing staff to ensure accurate and timely processing Oversee Medicaid billing processes, including preparation, submission, and follow-up Monitor accounts receivable, reconcile payments, and address outstanding balances Maintain and ensure accuracy of participant Medicaid files (plans, claims, and supporting documentation) Track and record all billing activity, approvals, payments, and delinquent accounts Ensure accuracy of Medicaid revenue and receivable balances Assist with budget preparation, revenue projections, and financial analysis Prepare reports related to Medicaid revenue, receivables, and cash flow Stay current on state and federal Medicaid billing requirements Partner with program leadership to analyze billing and service data Oversee billing integration within the electronic medical record (EMR) system Prepare monthly HUD accounting and financial statements Provide backup support in the absence of the CFO Assist with audits, financial statements, and special accounting projects Attend trainings, staff meetings, and maintain compliance with agency requirements Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis) Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience (nonprofit experience preferred) At least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred Valid driver's license and ability to meet agency insurance requirements Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization Solid understanding of general accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Office Knowledge of Medicaid billing processes and compliance requirements Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently Strong communication and teamwork skills Experience working with electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred Ability to learn new systems and adapt in a fast-paced environment Why Join Us?
