Position Overview A small growing manufacturing organization is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead accounting and financial operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this role is responsible for overseeing all GL, AP, AR, Payroll, HR, financial reporting, cash management, and internal controls. Unlike larger corporate environments, this position requires an individual who is comfortable operating wearing multiple hats within the organization, with direct involvement in day-to-day accounting activities while providing financial insight to support business decisions for the CEO. Key Responsibilities Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and related management reports for the CEO Develop financial metrics and reporting tools to support operational and strategic decision-making. Provide financial analysis, variance reporting, and recommendations to leadership. Oversee all general ledger activities and maintain accuracy of financial records. Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies. Establish, monitor, and strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures. Maintain and optimize ERP system processes and reporting capabilities. Manage daily cash flow activities and liquidity planning. Monitor banking relationships and treasury functions. Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. Perform and review cash and bank reconciliations. Partner with operational leaders to identify opportunities for efficiency and profitability improvements. Oversee payroll activities through a third-party payroll provider Paychex. Review payroll data for accuracy and compliance. Ensure accurate employee deductions, tax withholdings, and direct deposit administration. Serve as an internal resource for HR and payroll and benefits-related inquiries. Assist with employee benefits administration and related reporting requirements. Lead and develop accounting staff responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. Foster collaboration across departments to ensure financial accuracy and operational effectiveness. Coordinate annual audits and serve as a primary contact for external auditors. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required. UoP or Online Colleges okay Minimum of 5 years of progressive full cycle accounting Experience managing month-end close, financial reporting, payroll, and cash management activities. Prior experience leading accounting functions in a manufacturing, industrial, or operational environment preferred. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Experience with integrated ERP systems
