Assistant Accounting Manager (LOA Contract)

Job DescriptionJob Description Large automotive parts manufacturing company is seeking an Assistant Accounting Manager to join their team to assist with a leave of absence. Contract, 3-4 months $51

• $57/hr Full-time Monday
• Friday, 8am
• 5pm

Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting Prepare complex month-end journal entries and review less complex entries prepared by staff Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts Prepare monthly financial reports and ensure completeness and accuracy Prepare and/or assist in the consolidation of country-wide branches on a quarterly basis, including intercompany reconciliation and consolidation elimination entries Perform research on new accounting regulations that may impact the company Assist supervision and timely execution of all financial reporting, including but not limited to the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close process Ensure financial transactions are processed timely, accurately and in accordance with GAAP, including preparation and compliance with new accounting and financial reporting requirements Communicate accounting principal application to internal departments for new business processes and development to ensure accurate financial records Assist in ensuring compliance with all in-scope J-SOX controls in accounting area Document and implement process to produce reliable data more accurately when potential improvements are identified External Audit Prepare PBC (Prepared by Client) schedules in support of annual audit and quarterly reviews Involve in communications with External Auditors on all audit matters Build solid professional working relationships with external auditors Tax Administration Process quarterly payments of federal and state income taxes Coordinate with external tax service providers on the annual income tax provision as well as detail schedules including sales taxes and other business taxes Financial Planning, Analysis, and Budgeting Assist the FP&A team on annual budget planning process Assist the FP&A team to analyze operating results and variance to plan Support the FP&A team with in-depth analysis Managerial Assist and provide guidance to the staff in the field of closing team Assist coordination of departmental work and ensure deadlines are met Review work prepared by staff for accuracy, reliability and completeness Involved in decision making for the company goals with respect to accounting Ad hoc projects as requested.
