Job Description

Accounting ManagerCore ResponsibilitiesOwn the monthly close from planning through completion, including reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and financial package preparation.

Investigate financial anomalies, providing root cause analysis, quantified impacts, and recommended corrective actions.

Lead the accounting team across AP, AR, payroll support, fixed assets, and general ledger activities.

Drive cross-functional accountability with Operations, Service, Sales, HR, and Finance.

Improve close processes, controls, reconciliations, and reporting to reduce cycle time and improve accuracy.

Support audits, tax compliance, and internal controls while maintaining audit-ready documentation.

What Success Looks LikeFinancial statements are consistently delivered on time with minimal post-close adjustments.

Variances are explained proactively.

Issues are escalated with analysis and solutions.

The accounting team operates with clear ownership and accountability.

The Controller can focus on reviewing and leading rather than chasing information.

Requirements10+ years of progressive accounting experience with 3-5+ years leading an accounting team.

Technology savvy with strong experience leveraging AI and accounting tools.

High EQ and maturity, with the ability to build structure in evolving environments. Big 4 experience is a plus.

Strong operational accounting background in construction, manufacturing, distribution, security, field services, logistics, healthcare operations, or similar industries.

Experience with cost accounting, job costing, service operations, inventory, labor, and gross margin analysis.

Proven ownership of month-end close and financial reporting.

Demonstrated ability to improve processes, strengthen controls, and accelerate the close.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Strong NetSuite or comparable ERP experience.

Critical CompetenciesAnalytical curiosity and root-cause investigation.

Operational understanding beyond debits and credits.

Strong judgment regarding materiality and accounting issues.

Ability to influence and hold other departments accountable.

Hands-on leadership with a bias toward execution.

High urgency, organization, and follow-through.
