• $[85,000] per year, based on experience About Service Lion Service Lion is a fast-growing, multi-trade home services company in Orange County offering HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and drain services.

We've built a strong team of technicians, a modern contact center, and an install department, and we're on a mission to double in size next year. We need a sharp finance professional to keep our books clean and our numbers trustworthy as we scale. The Role You'll run our day-to-day accounting operations and own the monthly close. You'll work directly with the owner and leadership team to make sure we always know where we stand on cash, job profitability, and receivables. This is a hands-on role with room to grow into Controller as the company grows. What You'll Do Own accounts receivable and collections, including commercial accounts, financing, and membership billing Own accounts payable: vendor bills, approvals, weekly payment runs, and vendor relationships Perform monthly bank, credit card, and merchant account reconciliations in QuickBooks Online Manage the month-end close and deliver accurate monthly financial statements Reconcile ServiceTitan jobs, invoices, and payments to QuickBooks Online and support job costing by trade Prepare payroll inputs (hourly, commission, and bonus pay for technicians and office staff), submit them to Insperity on schedule, and record payroll entries in QuickBooks Manage tax filings, 1099s, and year-end support for our CPA Maintain clear documentation and internal controls for all accounting processes Support budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and KPI reporting for leadership What You Bring 4+ years of accounting experience (home services, construction, or another job-based business strongly preferred) Strong QuickBooks Online skills Experience with job costing and reconciling field service software to the books (ServiceTitan a big plus) Working knowledge of California payroll rules, including overtime and commission pay Experience with a PEO or outsourced payroll provider (Insperity a plus) Strong Excel and Microsoft 365 skills Excellent attention to detail, sound judgment, and high integrity Clear communication and the confidence to raise issues with leadership Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience Nice to Have Experience in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical businesses Experience with memberships or maintenance agreements and deferred revenue What We Offer Competitive salary [Health, dental, vision benefits through our PEO] [Paid time off and holidays] [Retirement plan] A clear path to grow into a Controller role as we scale Direct access to ownership and real influence on how the finance function is built Service Lion is an equal opportunity employer.
