Job Description

Peed Equipment is a growing heavy equipment rental company serving customers across multiple states. We are looking for a highly organized, experienced Controller to oversee our accounting operations, financial reporting, and tax compliance. This position works directly with ownership and plays a key role in supporting the company's continued growth. Responsibilities Manage all day-to-day accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, payroll oversight, and bank reconciliations. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Oversee month-end and year-end close processes. Manage multi-state sales tax filings and compliance . Ensure compliance with all state and local tax requirements. Maintain accurate financial records and strong internal controls. Work with our CPA on year-end tax preparation and financial reporting. Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses. Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting and forecasting. Support ownership with timely and accurate financial information. Supervise and mentor accounting staff while continually improving accounting processes. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of accounting leadership experience. Expert-level experience with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise is
REQUIRED.
Hands-on experience managing multi-state sales tax filings and compliance is
REQUIRED.
Strong understanding of GAAP. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA designation is a plus. Experience in heavy equipment rental, construction, trucking, or a similar industry is highly preferred. Experience with payroll, job costing, and fixed asset accounting. Pay:
$125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
