full-time Client Overview Our client is a well-established, community-focused nonprofit organization. The organization is growing and is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join its finance team in a key leadership capacity. Salary/Hourly Rate $78k - $94k Position Overview The Accounting Manager will oversee the day-to-day accounting function and play a key role in maintaining the organization's financial accuracy, compliance, and reporting processes. Working closely with the leadership team, this position will provide hands-on oversight of accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, grants, cash management, and internal controls. The ideal Accounting Manager candidate is a strong accounting professional who comes from the nonprofit space and can balance technical accounting responsibilities with team leadership and business partnership. This role will also contribute to improving accounting processes, strengthening financial controls, and ensuring the organization is well-positioned to support continued growth. Responsibilities Of The Accounting Manager Manage day-to-day nonprofit accounting operations, including monthly and annual close, financial statements, account reconciliations, general ledger integrity, and supporting schedules. Oversee nonprofit-specific accounting, including grant accounting, restricted funding accounting, deferred revenue, grant agreements, funding requirements, and related compliance and reporting obligations; support annual audits and Form 990 filings. Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial reporting, analyzing financial results, trends, and variances to provide meaningful insight to senior leadership and support organizational decision-making. Lead and develop accounting staff while maintaining strong nonprofit accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls, improving processes and efficiency, and providing financial leadership and decision-making support for executive leadership. Required Experience/Skills For The Accounting Manager Nonprofit industry experience. 6-10 years of progressively responsible accounting experience. 3-5 years in a supervisory position. Preferred Experience/Skills For The Accounting Manager Experience improving accounting workflows, implementing automation, or optimizing financial systems. Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. CPA and/or Master's degree in Accounting preferred. Benefits Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance. 401(k) with company match.
