full-time We are working with a Kansas City based Construction and Distribution company who looking for a highly motivated and resourceful Accounting Manager to join our growing company. The ideal candidate will have solid communication, technology, analytical and management skills. Candidates should possess knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This is an exciting opportunity for someone who likes to manage all things accounting and finance for smaller, family-owned companies and be part of a growing business! Comp up to $110k + bonus Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions Collaborate within the company to educate and enforce accounting policies Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements in a timely manner Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process Managing the budget process Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes and or technology Evaluating accounting and internal control systems Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed Hiring, training, developing and retaining skilled accounting staff Qualifications BA or higher in accounting or related field and a minimum of six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred Previous experience in construction, distribution, or manufacturing is a plus Strong customer service experience required Ability to organize and coordinate works efficiently and set priorities. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles Strong analytical problem-solving aptitude with creative solutions, ability to organize work with large amounts of information efficiently, manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with strong attention to detail Ability to effectively and professionally communicate, both in writing and verbally, with management, vendors Able to work as a team player Open to development of skills and knowledge Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to change
