full-time Fund Accounting Manager - Private Equity & Hedge Funds Confidential Search | Investment Management / Fund Services Our client, a leading global provider of investment processing, investment management, and investment operations solutions, is seeking an experienced Fund Accounting Manager to join its growing Investment Manager Services organization. This is a high-visibility opportunity for an experienced alternative-fund accounting professional who enjoys combining technical fund accounting expertise, client relationship management, and people leadership . The successful candidate will oversee accounting operations for a portfolio of private equity and/or hedge fund clients while leading and developing a team of accounting professionals. What You'll Do Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing expertise across domestic and offshore alternative fund accounting and administration . Manage the day-to-day accounting operations and workflow for a team supporting private equity and/or hedge fund clients. Allocate funds and responsibilities across the team while ensuring deadlines, service levels, and quality standards are consistently met. Coordinate the onboarding and setup of new funds and converted clients , gathering requirements and partnering with internal teams to ensure a successful implementation. Review and approve month-end valuations, NAV-related reporting, reconciliations, and accounting packages prior to delivery to clients. Partner with clients and investment managers on transaction-related questions, financial reporting, fund administration, and day-to-day service needs. Coordinate with transfer agents, internal operations teams, technology teams, and external vendors to resolve accounting, system, and production issues. Support year-end audits and preparation/review of financial statements in accordance with applicable GAAP requirements. Ensure appropriate adherence to AML, regulatory, compliance, and internal control requirements . Review fund transactions and accounting activity for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established policies and procedures. Oversee and/or authorize fund cash activity and wire payments in accordance with applicable controls. Identify accounting issues, investigate discrepancies, and drive timely resolution with internal and external stakeholders. Participate in client meetings, prospect presentations, business development initiatives, and client visits as needed. Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and analysts through regular one-on-ones, performance evaluations, training, career development, and ongoing feedback. Assess staffing needs, participate in interviewing and hiring, and help build a high-performing team. Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and enhance the client experience. Collaborate across the organization to support new business, client conversions, technology initiatives, and continuous improvement. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics , or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience will also be considered. 5+ years of experience in fund services , with direct alternative investment experience required . 2+ years of supervisory or management experience . Strong understanding of hedge fund and/or private equity fund accounting and administration . Experience with NAV/valuation processes, reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close activities. Experience working directly with investment managers, fund clients, administrators, transfer agents, auditors, and/or other service providers . Working knowledge of GAAP, AML/compliance requirements, and fund operational controls . Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel . Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with sophisticated financial-services clients.
