Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Controller/Accounting Manager to oversee the company's accounting operations and financial reporting while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all financial data. This individual will play a key role in managing daily accounting activities, supporting cash flow, maintaining compliance, and identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable working independently. Key Responsibilities Manage all day-to-day accounting activities utilizing QuickBooks Desktop, including maintaining accurate financial records and the general ledger.
Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for leadership review.
Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and other key financial records to ensure accuracy.
Oversee the full accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and resolution of discrepancies.
Review, approve, and reconcile employee expense reports in accordance with company policies.
Monitor cash balances and transfer funds between bank accounts as necessary to support payroll, vendor payments, and operational needs.
Assist with cash flow forecasting and provide financial insights to support business planning and decision-making.
Serve as the primary accounting contact during financial audits and collaborate with the company's external CPA firm.
Process and ensure timely remittance of 401(k) contributions and wage garnishment payments.
Evaluate existing accounting procedures and recommend improvements that strengthen internal controls, streamline workflows, and increase operational efficiency.
Maintain compliance with accounting standards and company financial policies while supporting ongoing financial initiatives. The ideal Controller/Accounting Manager will have a Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar. Other requirements for the Controller/Accounting Manager role include and are not limited to:
- 5+ years of accounting experience, including leadership experience
- CPA preferred
- Strong financial reporting (GAAP, regulatory reporting), internal controls experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
