Finance Manager

Finance Manager Vaco $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 / yr 401(k), retirement plan United States, Massachusetts, Boston May 08, 2026 We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee financial reporting, fund operations, and cash management activities. This role will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial statements, strong controls, and effective coordination with internal teams and external partners, particularly within an investment or fund-based environment. This is a hybrid position in Boston, MA. Responsibilities Oversee the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements in accordance with GAAP Manage day-to-day financial operations, including daily cash activity, reconciliations, and cash forecasting Support financial oversight for private debt funds, including coordination with fund administrators and external service providers Review fund-level accounting, capital activity, and financial reporting deliverables for accuracy and timeliness Partner with fund administration, audit, tax, and compliance teams to support reporting, audits, and regulatory requirements Monitor and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies across financial processes Analyze financial results, identify trends, and provide clear insights to senior leadership and stakeholders Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis efforts Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to accounting standards, policies, and best practices Communicate complex financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders Contribute to process improvements aimed at increasing efficiency, accuracy, and scalability Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field CPA designation required 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, preferably within asset management, investment management, or fund-based environments Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements Experience supporting private debt funds, fund accounting, or fund administration strongly preferred Hands-on experience with cash management, reconciliations, and financial close processes Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners Proficiency with financial systems and Excel; experience with fund accounting platforms a plus Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
