A well established food and beverage manufacturer in San Antonio is hiring an accounting manager to lead its accounting function during an exciting period of growth. This is a hands on seat with real ownership over cost accounting and month end close, working directly with senior leadership rather than buried under layers of finance staff.Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including month end/quarter end/year end close, financial reporting, general ledger, and internal controls
- Direct experience managing or overseeing an AP/AR function
- Genuine hands on manufacturing environment experience, with real exposure to production, ingredients/materials, and labor cost inputs
- Strong cost accounting experience: product costing, bills of materials, margin analysis, and cost driven pricing recommendations
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- ERP system experience preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Own month end, quarter end, and year end close, including reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and financial statements
- Manage one direct report handling AP/AR, vendor payments, invoicing, and collections
- Partner with operations leadership on production and ingredient costing, margin analysis, and cost driven pricing decisions
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis alongside executive leadership
- Maintain internal controls and support external audit and tax requirements
- Use ERP and Excel tools to improve reporting, reconciliations, and accounting workflows
