Job Description

We're a growing Virginia mortgage lending company with a clear ambition: to become one of the most trusted names in the industry. We're not looking for someone to maintain the status quo — we're looking for a leader who wants to build undenied excellence in the closing operation and uncompromised respect in the market. What you bring to the game: This is your chance to shape a function, not just run one. As we scale, you'll define how our closing operation works — the standards, the tools, the team — and grow it alongside the company. You'll have real influence on decisions that matter, and a seat at the table as we expand. The role. You'll own the closing function from clear-to-close through funding and post-closing QC, while building a team that does the same. That means running the pipeline to hit production goals, balancing closing disclosures and settlement statements, coordinating with title, attorneys, and loan officers, authorizing wires, and catching issues before they reach a borrower. Industry leadership. We expect you to be a voice in the room, not just a manager of one. You'll benchmark our operation against the best in the market, bring back what works, and position our closing function as the model others follow. That means staying current on emerging standards, sharing what we've learned, and building a reputation for innovation that attracts talent and partners. Technology leadership. This area is mission critical. You'll evaluate, select, and champion the tools that redesign and reshape how closings get done — e-closing platforms, automated disclosure and QC systems, digital signing, and data integrations that eliminate manual handoffs, streamline workflows. You'll pilot new solutions, measure what works, and scale the winners across the team. The goal isn't adoption for its own sake — results will measurably show a model that is faster, simpler, cleaner, more transparent closings that borrowers and partners can feel and trust. People leadership . You will build a team for industry excellence. You'll coach, mentor, and retain closers who raise the bar — not just meet it. That means team performance of judgment and curiosity, not just experience, and coaching people to own their files end to end. You'll set clear standards, give direct feedback, and create a culture where excellence is the default and innovation is expected. The team you build should be one that other lenders notice — the kind people want to join and borrowers trust without question. Quality Champion. TRID, investor guidelines, state rules — non-negotiable. You'll set the standard for file accuracy, run QC that actually catches problems, and turn every exception into a process fix so the same mistake never repeats. Elite customer experience. Closings are stressful by nature. You and your team drive to make the customer feel calm, have clarity, and expect on time dependability. You'll coach closers to communicate proactively, resolve issues fast, and treat the borrower like the most important person in the transaction — because they are. Position requirements Qualified candidates will display the following: 5 plus years in mortgage closing or a closely related lending operations function, including at least 2 years directly managing people. Strong working knowledge of TRID, RESPA, TILA, and ECOA as they apply at the closing table, including tolerance analysis and cure obligations. Thorough understanding of conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, and Non-QM closing requirements, and comfort operating across a multi-state footprint with differing document, tax, and recording requirements. Hands-on experience with Encompass and Mavent compliance reports. You should be able to speak concretely about how Encompass is configured, not only how it is used. Experience managing or working alongside offshore or outsourced operations support, with clear views on what to move and how to control quality. Demonstrated record of process improvement with results you can quantify — a specific example of a process you redesigned, what it cost, and what it produced. Willingness to set expectations, give direct feedback, manage underperformance, and hold partners outside your team accountable. Strongly preferred qualifications Experience implementing or materially reconfiguring a closing technology stack: doc prep systems, fee and tax service integrations, settlement agent portals, or workflow automation. Experience reducing a closing function's cost per loan without sacrificing quality. Exposure to AI or rules-based automation applied to document review, data validation, or exception handling. Education High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred in related discipline. Relevant experience and a demonstrable improvement record matter more to us than the degree. If you aspire to engage with a team dedicated to a customer first, employee-always culture that leads to greatness. You'll do more than joining something - you'll contribute your best, so we all become better. Send your resume to rex.saoit@gmail.com or call 972 814 2474 for more information.
