We are looking for a Sr. Underwriter I to join our Public Service team working hybrid out of any of our PHLY offices!
Summary:
Determines acceptability, conditions and pricing of specific property & casualty (P&C) insurance risks and agrees on coverage within regulatory requirements, corporate product offerings and designated authority level. A typical day will include the following: Underwrites large, complex property & casualty (P&C) insurance risks Maintains up-to-date knowledge of loss experience and business conditions of key accounts as well as loss trends and any relevant legal or economic factors regarding the property & casualty business Participates on a team of underwriters and other staff to meet the property & casualty insurance and service needs of large multi-product customers Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all products, services, priorities and target markets in the property & casualty line of business or insurance segment May accompany marketing representative or represent the company on appointments in assigned territory and industry events May develop and maintain relationships with agency representatives May negotiate new and renewal business in partnership with Marketing to drive profitable growth May support profit improvement initiatives in partnership with
Marketing Department Qualifications:
College Degree or equivalent experience, plus CPCU, AU or other designation-related coursework 5 or more years of underwriting experience with a carrier handling Commercial Package business in a production-focused underwriting capacity Excellent analytical and communication skills Ability to be detail oriented in a fast-paced environment Ability to travel in assigned geographic territory on agency calls

National Range:
$84,422 - $94,354 Ultimate salary offered will be based on factors such as applicant experience and geographic location. #
