Job Description
Corridor Title is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Escrow Assistant to join our Commercial Escrow Team in New Braunfels. This role is heavily focused on funding and post-closing activities, ensuring commercial transactions are funded accurately, on time, and in compliance with company procedures. The ideal candidate is highly organized, works with a strong sense of urgency, and is comfortable managing multiple transactions in a fast-paced environment. This individual will play a critical role in supporting Escrow Officers and clients through the final stages of the closing process while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and customer service. Essential Duties Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned based on business needs. Funding & Disbursement Prepare files for funding and coordinate the funding of commercial transactions. Review closing packages and funding documents for completeness and accuracy. Obtain funding authorization and satisfy funding requirements. Process and coordinate disbursements in accordance with closing statements and escrow instructions. Send and verify incoming and outgoing wire instructions in compliance with company policies and fraud prevention procedures. Perform wire verification procedures and second approvals as authorized. Verify cashier's checks and other funds received for closing. Communicate funding status and post-closing information to all transaction parties. Balance files and ensure all funds are properly accounted for prior to disbursement. Escrow & Transaction Support Assist Escrow Officers with processing commercial escrow transactions from contract to close. Coordinate with buyers, sellers, lenders, attorneys, brokers, survey companies, and other parties involved in commercial transactions. Request and review payoffs, entity documents, surveys, and other transaction-related documents. Assist with clearing title and escrow requirements prior to closing. Prepare and distribute transaction-related communications and documentation. Support file setup, maintenance, and closing processes as needed. Post-Closing & Administrative Support Prepare post-closing packages and documentation. Ensure documents are submitted for recording in a timely manner. Scan and prepare completed files for policy issuance and final storage. Maintain accurate electronic and physical file records. Assist with incoming and outgoing mail, overnight deliveries, and other administrative support functions. Provide additional support to the Commercial Team as needed. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of escrow, title, real estate, lending, or related industry experience preferred. Commercial escrow experience is preferred; residential escrow experience will also be considered. Strong understanding of funding procedures, wire transfers, disbursements, and escrow accounting principles. Experience reviewing settlement statements, closing documents, and funding packages is highly desirable. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to take initiative, problem-solve, and work independently while contributing to a team environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and title/escrow software systems.
