Onsite Salary Range:
$40,000 - $55,000 annually. This range represents the good-faith salary range C&F Mortgage Corporation reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and other business-related factors.

Position Summary The Compliance Assistant plays an important role in supporting the company's mortgage compliance program by assisting with loan-level reviews, disclosure preparation, and regulatory compliance activities. This position works closely with underwriting, operations, and compliance staff to help ensure residential mortgage loans meet federal and state regulatory requirements, investor guidelines, and internal policies. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional seeking to build expertise in mortgage compliance, quality control, and regulatory requirements within a growing mortgage organization. Responsibilities Loan File Compliance Support Assist with compliance reviews of mortgage loan files throughout various stages of the loan lifecycle, including pre-underwriting, underwriting, closing, and post-closing. Review documentation to help ensure adherence to federal and state regulations, investor requirements, and company policies. Identify, document, and escalate potential compliance exceptions and file deficiencies. Assist with quality control reviews, monitoring activities, and audit preparation. Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation for compliance reviews. Disclosure Desk Support Prepare and issue required mortgage disclosures, including Loan Estimates and other regulatory disclosures. Review loan data for accuracy and completeness prior to disclosure issuance. Support compliance with timing requirements established by TRID and other applicable regulations. Collaborate with Loan Officers, Processors, Underwriters, and Closing staff to resolve disclosure-related issues. Help ensure disclosures are delivered accurately and within established service standards. Regulatory and Administrative Support Assist with regulatory change management activities and compliance projects. Support internal reporting, tracking, and documentation requirements. Maintain confidentiality of borrower and company information. Participate in training and professional development activities related to mortgage compliance and regulatory requirements. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Outlook Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Preferred Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Compliance, or a related field 1-3 years of experience in mortgage lending, mortgage operations, quality control, compliance, disclosures, or related financial services Working knowledge of mortgage lending processes and terminology Familiarity with TRID, RESPA, TILA, ECOA, HMDA, FHA, VA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, or investor requirements Experience working with a Loan Origination System (LOS) Core Competencies Attention to Detail Regulatory Awareness Problem Solving Accountability Time Management Team Collaboration Customer Service Mindset Confidentiality and Professionalism EEO/AA/M/F/VETERAN/DISABILITY
