Job Description
Come join our team at Hotel Rose! The Hotel Night Auditor is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel's front desk during the overnight shift. This role combines customer service with administrative duties, including checking in late arrivals, checking out early departures, and balancing the day's financial activities. The Night Auditor also provides security and assistance to guests, ensuring a restful and secure environment throughout the night.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist guests with check-in and check-out procedures.
- Manage and resolve guest complaints and requests with a professional and friendly demeanor.
- Perform nightly audit of the hotel's financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Reconcile and balance accounts, posting revenue, and expenses to the appropriate ledgers.
- Prepare and distribute daily management reports.
- Monitor the hotel premises to ensure the safety and security of guests and staff.
- Handle guest inquiries both in person and over the phone.
- Process reservations, cancellations, and modifications accurately.
- Maintain knowledge of hotel services, facilities, and local attractions to provide recommendations and directions to guests.
- Perform general front desk duties such as data entry, filing, and maintaining guest records.
- Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance staff to address guest needs and report any issues.
- Ensure compliance with all hotel policies and procedures.
- Keep lobby area clean and welcoming for hotel guests.
- Stay on top of regular cleaning in the restaurant.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in hospitality management or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in a hotel front desk or night auditor role is highly desirable.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills to perform auditing and financial reconciliation tasks.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in the use of hotel management software and MS Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.
- Availability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Working Conditions:
- The Night Auditor works primarily in a hotel lobby and front desk area, which is climate-controlled.
- This role requires standing for extended periods and the ability to move around the hotel to assist guests and ensure security.
- The position involves working overnight hours, typically from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
