Job Description

The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of payroll administration to ensure employees are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with all applicable laws and company policies. This role will manage the day-to-day payroll operations, implement best practices, maintain systems, and serve as the subject matter expert on payroll-related matters. What you'll do: Manage and process payroll for all employees across multiple states/jurisdictions in a timely and accurate manner. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and reporting requirements. Oversee payroll system functionality, upgrades, and integrations with HRIS, accounting, and benefits systems. Maintain payroll records and ensure data accuracy, confidentiality, and integrity. Manage year-end activities, including W-2s, 1099s, and other required filings. Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a professional and timely manner. Collaborate with HR and Finance teams on compensation and benefits programs as they relate to payroll. Develop and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and controls to improve efficiency and mitigate risks.
What you have:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of payroll experience, with at least 2 years in a payroll management or supervisory role. Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll laws and regulations, with the ability to support a growing organization with a footprint in 30+ states. Experience with UKG Ready strongly preferred Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with accounting principles. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification preferred. The typical salary range for this position is $110,000 to $130,000. At PrizePicks, we consider your role, level, and where you'll be working when determining our salary ranges.
