Job Description
Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to support the payroll department. This role requires a minimum of five (5) years of progressive, multi-company and multi-state full-cycle payroll processing experience. The Payroll Manager will lead and supervise the Payroll Specialist and successfully work cross-functionally with other departments. The Payroll Manager will ensure accurate and timely payroll runs, as well has being responsible for ensuring compliance with all state unemployment insurance accounts, local tax withholdings, state specific paid leave accounts and withholdings, FLSA, and state wage and hours laws. Working alongside the Payroll Specialist ensure accurate and timely resolution is brought to all employee inquiries. The preferred professional has hands
- on experience running payroll(s) in ADP as well as ADP's HRIS system as a whole. Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision, training and guidance to the Payroll Specialist; reviewing work for accuracy and completeness, supporting professional development and ensuring team deliverables are met.
- Process and oversee full-cycle, multi-state and multi-company payroll for all employees in accordance with the established payroll schedules.
- Register and maintain employer payroll tax accounts across all applicable states and companies.
- Manage all W-2 year-end activities, including auditing, reconciliation, employee distribution, and W-2c corrections.
- Work with the Payroll Specialist to onboard new employees into the ADP system-ensuring all onboarding documentation is completed in a timely manner, and ensuring pay profiles are set up accurately.
- Process employment verifications and manage all garnishments orders, child support orders, tax levies, creditor garnishments, and student loan garnishments.
- Generate and distribute payroll reports to the accounting department and departmental leadership.
- Stay current on all state income tax, local tax, wage and hour, and paid sick leave withholdings across all operating states.
- Successfully identify inefficiencies in the payroll processes and lead implementation of a more efficient, accurate, and compliant process that is scalable. Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; Bachelor's preferred. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of progressive, full-cycle payroll experience, that includes multi-state and multi-company
- Prior supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
- Direct experience processing payroll in ADP strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard office software required.
HRIS/ERP
integrations is strongly preferred.- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of the FLSA, multi-state wage-and-hour law, federal/state/local payroll tax, garnishment administration, and 401(k) and benefit deductions. Additional Requirements
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening
- Satisfactory criminal background check and credit check.
Pay:
$75,000.00- $85,000.
