Job Description

APS is partnering with an established Central Valley construction company on this search for an experienced payroll professional. The Payroll Specialist will play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely payroll processing for a diverse employee population while supporting payroll compliance, reporting, reconciliations, and employee inquiries. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys owning the payroll process, working cross-functionally, and handling complex payroll requirements with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.

Payroll Specialist:
3+ years of payroll processing experience High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field is a plus Experience handling complex payroll environments with multiple employee classifications strongly preferred Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel Experience working with payroll and/or ERP systems Knowledge of payroll tax regulations and payroll accounting practices Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy High level of integrity and professionalism when handling confidential information Proactive, motivated, and collaborative approach to work Responsibilities of the
Payroll Specialist:
Process weekly payroll for multiple employee groups, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Maintain employee payroll records, including wages, deductions, benefits, and applicable labor or cost coding Review timesheets and payroll documentation for accuracy and compliance Assist with specialized payroll reporting and regulatory requirements Ensure compliance with applicable payroll tax requirements and garnishment regulations Coordinate employee benefit and payroll-related reporting as needed Reconcile payroll reports, general ledger postings, and quarterly filings Assist with year-end payroll reporting, including W-2s and applicable 1099s Provide payroll documentation and support during audits Partner with HR, Accounting, and operational teams to research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee questions Maintain the highest level of confidentiality when handling employee and payroll information 11192 #IND2
