The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-focused, eager to learn, and demonstrates excellent customer service skills. 100% on site in West Hartford, CT Monday through Friday 8am-5pm $55k to $65k depending on experience Key Responsibilities Process weekly payroll in accordance with internal deadlines. Enter and maintain payroll data in the payroll system including timesheets, payroll adjustments, job information. Prepare and post daily payroll transactions. Administer certified payroll reporting by calculating applicable prevailing wage rates and preparing, reviewing, and distributing Federal and State certified payroll documentation Process bonuses, commissions, and supplemental runs as required. Generate and distribute payroll-related reports monthly, quarterly, and annually. Manage employee setup and changes in the payroll system, including new hires, terminations, and compensation changes. Maintain records of employee deductions (excluding benefits and retirement plans). Ensure compliance with applicable payroll laws and regulations at the state and federal level. Communicate effectively with managers, employees, and executives regarding payroll inquiries. Support audits and provide documentation as requested. Perform other duties and payroll-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications Education & Experience:
Associates degree or higher preferred. At least 1 year of experience in payroll, accounting, or administrative support
Skills & Abilities:
Skilled in using Microsoft Office applications effectively Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on accuracy Strong verbal and written communication abilities Capable of handling sensitive information with discretion and maintaining confidentiality Familiarity with payroll systems such as WennSoft Great Plains, Dayforce, or comparable platforms is a plus.
