Payroll Clerk - South Bend, IN (Onsite) This is a 1099
Independent Contractor Opportunity Pay:
$20-$24/hr
Schedule:
Mon-Fri, 8 AM-5 PM Must be able to work Saturdays as needed and support 2nd shift when required. Contract‑to‑Hire Requirements Background Check Drug Test Ability to work Overtime Professional References Security Clearance Travel (as needed) About the Role Join a fast‑moving manufacturing team where your payroll expertise keeps operations running smoothly. You'll manage daily payroll activity, support union compliance, and work closely with HR and supervisors to ensure accurate, timely pay for the workforce. Key Responsibilities Manage daily payroll in ADP eTime Review, input, and clear timecard exceptions Verify hours, production data, and incentive pay Reconcile payroll and production summaries Maintain production data in payroll/manufacturing systems Prepare shift summaries and spreadsheets Track and process payroll adjustments Resolve payroll discrepancies and employee questions Ensure compliance with union contracts and benefits practices Track and reconcile union dues Conduct payroll audits Support process improvements Train team members on payroll systems Generate payroll/operational reports Perform administrative tasks (labels, record reviews, etc.) Assist with basic accounting tasks Skills & Experience 1+ year with ADP eTime or similar payroll/timekeeping systems 1+ year working in a union environment Advanced Excel skills (tracking, reconciliation, reporting) Strong attention to detail & problem‑solving Ability to manage daily deadlines in a fast‑paced setting Excellent communication skills Manufacturing experience + SAP exposure preferred Education High School Diploma or equivalent required College coursework in accounting, business, or related field preferred
Pay:
$20.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
