Job Description
We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to support accurate and timely payroll operations for a mid-sized workforce in New Orleans, Louisiana. This contract position offers the opportunity to move into a permanent role and is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented and can manage end-to-end payroll processing across multiple states while maintaining compliance and strong employee service. The role requires hands-on experience with payroll systems, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Process full-cycle payroll for a workforce of approximately 101 to 500 employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with established procedures.
- Administer multi-state payroll activities, including reviewing earnings, deductions, taxes, and other payroll-related adjustments across jurisdictions.
- Maintain payroll records and audit employee data to confirm correct pay rates, tax withholdings, direct deposit details, and benefit deductions.
- Use ADP Workforce Now to manage payroll transactions, review reports, and resolve discrepancies before payroll is finalized.
- Respond to employee and management inquiries related to payroll calculations, pay statements, tax matters, and general payroll support.
- Reconcile payroll totals and investigate variances to ensure all payments, deductions, and employer obligations are properly recorded.
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations by monitoring updates and applying required changes to payroll processing.
- Partner with internal teams such as Human Resources and Finance to coordinate payroll changes, employee updates, and reporting needs.
