Payroll SpecialistPosition SummaryA growing construction-related organization is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations across multiple business units. This role will be responsible for processing payroll for approximately 400 employees, including union payroll, while working closely with payroll and accounting leadership. The ideal candidate will have construction payroll experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Process weekly and/or bi-weekly payroll for approximately 400 employees.
Manage union payroll and ensure compliance with applicable labor agreements.
Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data.
Process payroll deductions, garnishments, benefits, and tax withholdings.
Research and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner.
Partner with accounting and operations teams to ensure payroll accuracy.
Assist with payroll reporting and audits as needed.
Support payroll for multiple business entities.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
Qualifications:
Required:
Experience processing union payroll.
Construction industry payroll experience.
Full-cycle, in-house payroll processing experience.
Strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred:
Experience with construction ERP or payroll software such as:
Trimble Viewpoint SpectrumViewpoint VistaComputerEaseTimberlineBilingual skills.
Light accounting experience.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
Work Environment:
Fully onsite position.
