Job Description
We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to oversee accurate and timely payroll operations for a workforce of approximately 350 employees in Westbury, New York. This position supports a largely unionized field population and requires close attention to wage rules, timekeeping records, and payroll compliance. The ideal candidate brings strong payroll knowledge, experience handling multi-state processing, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment; Spanish language skills are highly valued.
Responsibilities:
- Process end-to-end payroll for roughly 350 employees, ensuring each pay cycle is completed accurately and on schedule.
- Review timekeeping and punch records to confirm hours worked, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues before payroll submission.
- Administer payroll for a predominantly union workforce, applying contract terms and maintaining current union wage rates.
- Calculate and verify prevailing wage payments in accordance with applicable job and labor requirements.
- Prepare and transfer payroll data into the accounting platform and coordinate submissions for processing through Paychex.
- Maintain payroll records, audit supporting documentation, and help ensure compliance with internal standards and applicable regulations.
- Partner with supervisors and internal stakeholders to address payroll questions, corrections, and employee pay-related concerns.
- Support multi-state payroll activities while helping ensure proper treatment of earnings, deductions, and wage updates.
