Job Description

Join Our Team and Help Drive the Financial Health of Our Organization Are you passionate about helping others navigate complex financial situations with compassion and clarity? We're seeking a Financial Counselor to play a vital role in supporting our patients and strengthening our Revenue Cycle operations. In this position, you'll guide patients through their financial responsibilities, provide education on billing and payment options, and ensure a smooth, respectful experience for those seeking assistance. This role blends customer service, financial counseling, and revenue cycle expertise to make a meaningful impact every day. What You'll Do Manage and review self-pay accounts, including uninsured and patient-responsibility balances Assist patients with payment plans, charity care applications, and financial counseling Serve as a primary point of contact for patient billing questions and concerns Maintain accurate and timely documentation of account activity and communications Run reports, manage work queues, and resolve account issues efficiently Process credit balances and refunds in accordance with policies Review remittance advice to ensure accurate patient responsibility balances Collaborate closely with billing and revenue cycle teams to ensure timely claim resolution Support collections processes, including patient outreach and coordination with collection agencies Ensure compliance with all applicable collection laws and regulations Review patient billing statements for accuracy and completeness Provide backup support to the registration team as needed Track and report productivity and workflow progress Contribute to a team-oriented, positive work environment Position Highlights Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm Hybrid work environment with at least two days per week in the office. High school graduate or equivalent. One year of experience in healthcare or a business-related field. Experience in collections preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
