Location Vancouver, WA Address Vancouver, Washington Employment Type Intern Location Type On-site Department Internship Program Compensation $22 per hour Our compensation reflects the cost of talent across multiple US geographic markets. Pay is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits.
Job Summary:
The Intern, Financial Planning will assist our staff members in servicing high net worth and ultra high net worth clients through holistic financial planning and client relationship support. This position provides the opportunity to develop foundational advisory, consultative, communication and EQ, and business development skills through hands-on experience supporting advisors through client onboarding, meeting preparation, and the creation of financial plans, and delivery of exceptional client experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support client onboarding by preparing and processing necessary paperwork. Assist in scheduling client meetings and developing clear, engaging materials to explain financial concepts. Observe client meetings (where appropriate) to gain firsthand experience in how advisors build relationships and solve client challenges. Participate in client meeting follow-up tasks including documentation, research, and solution development. Contribute ideas during team discussions on improving client service and business development opportunities. Support client service activities, including account maintenance and money movement processes. Use financial planning and CRM software to assist with plan development and data management. Assist with data entry, plan modeling, and compiling plan deliverables. Collaborate with team members on special projects and client service initiatives.
Required Education and Experience:
Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree with an expected graduation date within 12 months of the start of the internship Demonstrated leadership experience through work or extracurricular activities
Preferred Education and Experience:
Major in wealth management, financial planning, finance, or a related field. Interest in pursuing a client-facing advisory career, with a focus on business development and relationship management.
Skills :
Strong customer service orientation. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Detail-oriented with solid analytical and problem-solving abilities. Comfortable contributing ideas in group settings. Clear and professional written and verbal communication. Ability to communicate complex topics in a simple, relatable way. Curiosity and eagerness to learn about financial markets, planning strategies, and client motivations and decision-making. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with a willingness to learn financial planning tools and CRM systems.
