About the Position We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Real Estate Appraiser Trainee to join our growing appraisal firm. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in building a career in residential real estate valuation. The successful candidate will work directly under a Certified Residential Appraiser, receiving hands-on training while completing the experience requirements toward New Jersey appraisal licensure. Responsibilities Assist with residential property inspections throughout New Jersey. Collect and verify property data, including measurements, photographs, and property characteristics. Research comparable sales, listings, market trends, and public records. Assist in preparing residential appraisal reports in compliance with USPAP and lender guidelines. Communicate professionally with homeowners, real estate agents, attorneys, and lenders. Maintain accurate work files and documentation. Travel to inspection assignments as required. Qualifications High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Interest in pursuing a career in real estate appraisal. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office; experience with appraisal software is a plus. Ability to learn quickly and work independently after training. Valid New Jersey driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to walk properties, take measurements, and conduct exterior and interior inspections. Preferred Qualifications Completion of qualifying appraisal education is a plus but not required. Real estate, construction, architecture, engineering, or finance experience is beneficial. Familiarity with New Jersey residential real estate markets is an advantage.
