Position Overview:
The Entry-Level Appraiser is responsible for assisting in the appraisal of real and personal property within the Cameron Appraisal District. This role involves data collection, property inspections, and application of appraisal methods to ensure accurate property valuations in compliance with state laws and district guidelines. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and committed to providing excellent service to the public.
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Property Data Collection and Inspection:
Conduct field inspections of residential, commercial, agricultural, and personal properties.
Gather and verify property data, including measurements, photos, and relevant property features.
Ensure property data is accurately recorded in appraisal systems. 2.
Appraisal Process:
Assist in determining property values using standard appraisal techniques, including cost, income, and market approaches.
Research and analyze market trends, sales data, and other factors affecting property value.
Support senior appraisers in reviewing and updating property records. 3.
Public Interaction:
Provide information to property owners regarding appraisal methods and property valuation.
Respond to inquiries and assist in resolving concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
Represent the district during informal reviews and protests as needed. 4.
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure appraisal activities comply with the Texas Property Tax Code and district policies.
Maintain thorough and accurate records of all appraisal activities.
Assist in preparing reports and data for the districts annual appraisal roll. 5.
Professional Development:
Attend training sessions and pursue certification as a Registered Professional Appraiser (RPA) in Texas.
Stay updated on changes in property tax laws, appraisal techniques, and market trends. 6.
Other Duties:
Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned by the supervisor or management.
