Monday-Friday, fully onsite A well-established, multi-state organization is seeking a Senior Tax Specialist to join its corporate finance team. This position will take ownership of indirect tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, with a primary focus on sales and use tax. It also offers long-term growth potential as an experienced member of the tax leadership team approaches retirement. Responsibilities Prepare, reconcile, and file sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions Manage additional indirect tax filings, including gross receipts and property tax Research tax regulations and help resolve complex compliance questions Support exemption certificate requirements and customer eligibility determinations Assist with tax audits, reporting, annual 1099 preparation, and unclaimed property compliance Analyze tax data and identify opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency Support tax software configuration, testing, and process improvements Collaborate with Finance, IT, Customer Service, and other internal departments Provide technical guidance and support to other members of the tax team Qualifications Five or more years of corporate tax experience Hands-on sales and use tax experience, including return preparation and filing Experience working in a complex, multi-state tax environment Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred CPA preferred but not required Strong Excel, analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to independently manage recurring deadlines and tax compliance projects Experience with AS400 systems or Vertex tax software is helpful but not required Benefits Multiple bonus opportunities throughout the year Comprehensive health and wellness benefits Tuition reimbursement opportunities Professional development and long-term advancement potential Collaborative, stable work environment This is a direct-hire opportunity with a company that manages its tax compliance internally, giving the Senior Tax Specialist meaningful ownership and exposure across the full indirect tax process.
