Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Tax Associate to support the Branch Manager in preparing Individual and Corporate Tax Returns and assisting with tax planning initiatives for clients. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations, hands-on tax preparation experience, and excellent analytical and organizational skills. This role requires the ability to manage multiple tax-related assignments, conduct research, support audits, and collaborate effectively with finance and accounting teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare Federal, State, and Local Individual Income Tax Returns. Assist with the preparation of Federal, State, and Local Corporate Income Tax Returns. Assist with the preparation of State Sales Tax Returns. Assist with the preparation of Federal, State, and Local Payroll Tax Returns. Conduct tax research and provide guidance on complex tax issues. Assist with tax audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries from tax authorities. Review financial statements to identify tax implications and potential tax planning opportunities. Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on clients and the organization. Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting. Support the Branch Manager and tax team with tax planning and compliance initiatives. Manage multiple assignments while ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting. 1-3 years of tax preparation experience, primarily focused on Individual Tax Return Preparation; corporate tax preparation experience is a plus. Experience preparing New York State, Connecticut, and New Jersey Sales Tax Returns. Experience preparing New York State, Connecticut, and New Jersey Payroll Tax Returns. Experience with ProSeries Tax Preparation Software. Experience with QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online. CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification preferred, or actively pursuing certification. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations. Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, work collaboratively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
