Division Overview The Operations Division provides information and assistance to taxpayers and tax practitioners of the Commonwealth through the delivery of outstanding customer service, maximizing revenue collections and using the most innovative, cost-effective means available and to promote DOR's enhanced web service. Job Description
- To ensure compliance with applicable tax laws, rules and regulations.
- To determine the correct amount of taxes due through review of departmental and taxpayer records and collects that amount from taxpayers on assigned accounts through case management and enforcement of Massachusetts Tax Laws.
- The examiner is also tasked with working towards securing information and documentation from taxpayers as well as adjusting taxpayer accounts when necessary based on information received.
MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have at least (A) two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional experience in accounting, auditing or tax examining work, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.Substitutions:
I. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major in accounting, business administration or business management may be substituted for the required experience.- Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed. _ Comprehensive Benefits
