for a Manager, Federal Tax for a Multi-Billion, Fortune 500 company located in South Charlotte. Total Compensation- $300K Plus!!!!!
Functions:
The Manager of Federal Tax Compliance is a member of the Tax Department leadership team and is responsible for leading all aspects of U.S. federal income tax compliance for the company and its subsidiaries. This role oversees the timely and accurate preparation, review, and filing of federal income tax returns and related payments, manages federal audits and taxing authority interactions, supports business operations through tax consultation and planning, and leads continuous improvement efforts across compliance processes, technology, and team development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrate leadership by setting expectations, promoting accountability, and developing a high-performing federal tax compliance team in a decentralized environment.
- Apply sound judgment to identify, evaluate, and resolve federal tax compliance, technical, and operational matters.
- Own federal tax compliance results, ensuring accurate and timely deliverables and adherence to tax laws.
- Communicate complex tax and business matters clearly and effectively to business partners and senior leadership.
- Plan, organize, and prioritize work across multiple workstreams while maintaining high standards of quality and execution.
- Drive continuous improvement by enhancing processes, efficiency, and supporting technology within the federal tax compliance function.
Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in accounting 8+ years in public accounting/industry with federal corporate income tax return experience. Experience in coaching and mentoring junior teammates.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters in Accountancy or Taxation. Big Four accounting firm experience preferred- not required CPA certification. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Proficiency with Onesource Income Tax, RIA Checkpoint or Bloomberg BNA, and Microsoft Office applications. Experience with manufacturing industry tax issues. Strong interpersonal skills with management and executive presence.
