Our mid-size Miami firm offers the complex, high-level client work of a large firm with the collaborative culture and work-life balance of a boutique practice. We are seeking a Tax Manager to join our team in a hybrid capacity. In this leadership role, you will oversee complex tax engagements, mentor a growing team of professionals, and serve as a primary strategic advisor for a diverse portfolio of clients.
Key ResponsibilitiesEngagement Leadership:
Lead and manage end-to-end tax compliance engagements for corporations (C-Corp, S-Corp), partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals.
Review & Strategy:
Perform high-level reviews of complex federal and state income tax returns, ensuring technical accuracy and total compliance with evolving tax legislation.
Tax Planning & Advisory:
Research and develop sophisticated tax planning strategies and projections to optimize financial positions for entrepreneurial and middle-market clients.
Team Development:
Supervise, train, and provide technical mentorship to staff and seniors, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Client Management:
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, managing expectations, delivering insights, and representing clients before the IRS or state taxing authorities.
QualificationsExperience:
5-8+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting (with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory/management capacity).
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Master's in Taxation (MST) is highly preferred.
Certification:
Active CPA license not required.
Skills:
Proficiency in professional tax software (e.g., CCH Axcess, GoSystems, or ProSystem fx) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
