Job Description

Affordable Business Services is a well-established and growing tax preparation firm located in Lomita, California . We are seeking a detail-oriented, experienced Certified Tax Preparer to join our team. This is an in-office position that begins on a part-time basis and transitions to full-time during our busy tax seasons. Position Details Location:
Lomita, CA (In Office)
Schedule:
Part-time to start (Monday-Friday, 10:00 AM-2:30 PM)
Training:
Begins in August Full-time hours during tax season: September through October 15 February through April 15 Additional hours, including occasional evenings and Saturdays, may be required during tax season to meet filing deadlines. Key Responsibilities Prepare accurate federal and state tax returns for individuals, S and C corporations, estates, and trusts. Review financial documents, including W-2s, 1099s, receipts, bank records, and wage transcripts. Review prior-year tax returns for accuracy and continuity. Communicate with clients regarding missing documentation and answer tax-related questions. Identify eligible deductions, credits, and tax-saving opportunities. Maintain accurate electronic client files and documentation. Ensure the confidential and secure handling of sensitive financial information. Stay current with federal and state tax laws and regulations. Collaborate effectively with other team members to ensure timely completion of client returns. Required Qualifications Current Certified Tax Preparer license required. Must have experience filling out tax forms. 3-5 years of professional tax preparation experience preferred. Experience using Lacerte tax software is required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and QuickBooks. Experience preparing individual, business, estate, and trust tax returns. Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills. Outstanding communication and client service skills. Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational and time management skills. High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling confidential information.
