Tax Preparer / Accounting Professional RW Tax Advisors, P.C. seeks a Tax Preparer/Accounting Professional for its public accounting firm. This individual is a valued member of our team, providing tax preparation, accounting, and payroll services to our clients. This role is instrumental to the firm's success.
Primary Responsibilities:
Tax Preparation:
Prepare individual, business, and fiduciary tax returns using ProSeries tax software. Interact directly with clients to address tax issues, answer questions, and collect necessary information. Create year-end income tax projections and prepare tax workpapers.
Bookkeeping:
Utilize QuickBooks for reconciling client accounts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Record transactions and generate adjusting journal entries for a working trial balance used in tax preparation. Please note that our firm does not provide compilation, review, or audit services for financial statements.
Payroll Services:
Complete quarterly and annual reporting, initiate periodic payroll tax deposits, generate paychecks, and set up initial payroll tax accounts for clients.
Other Projects:
Assist with other various tax and accounting projects as needed.
Client Invoicing:
Generate invoices for the provision of professional services to clients.
Continuing Education:
Stay up to date on tax developments through ongoing professional education.
Schedule:
As a public accounting firm focused on tax preparation and consulting, we experience a traditional busy season providing opportunities for overtime during January through April 15 and a more relaxing schedule providing work/life balance during the rest of the year. The base schedule for the Tax Preparer/Accounting Professional position will be shown below. During busy season, there may be instances where additional hours are requested.

Education & Experience Requirements:
Accounting degree
- Bachelor's degree or higher is preferred; minimum Associate's degree is required.
CPA designation is preferred but not required. Prior experience with software programs such as ProSeries, QuickBooks, Excel, Word, and Outlook is preferred. Prior experience in a public accounting environment is preferred. Ability to work independently in a deadline-driven profession.
